Blockdrop — Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 August 2026
Blockdrop is a block puzzle game published by StarzsTech, Singapore. It does not ask for your name, your email address, or your phone number. Unless you choose to sign in with Google, it has no way to work out who you are.
What the game stores on your device
Your scores, gems, unlocked themes and block styles, daily goals, sound settings and your saved game are kept on your phone, in the app's own storage. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. If you sign in with Google, a copy of your progress is also kept on our server so it can follow you to a new phone — see Signing in with Google below.
What is sent off your device
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| A random player ID created by our server the first time you play a ranked game | So the leaderboard can tell one player's scores from another's. It is not linked to you, your device, or any account. | StarzsTech server |
| Your score, and the list of moves that produced it | The server replays your game to confirm the score is real. This is how cheating is prevented. | StarzsTech server |
| A display name, only if you choose to set one | Shown next to your score on the leaderboard. | StarzsTech server |
| Your Google account ID and the name on your Google account, only if you choose to sign in | So your progress and scores can be linked to your account instead of a single phone. We never see your password, and we do not store your email address. | StarzsTech server |
| Your game progress — gems, best scores, unlocked themes and styles, settings — only if you are signed in | Cloud save, so a new phone picks up where the old one left off. | StarzsTech server |
| Your device's advertising ID | Used by Google AdMob to select ads and to measure them. Collected by Google's advertising SDK, not by us. |
If you never play a ranked game and never sign in, nothing is sent to our server at all.
Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional — every part of the game works without it. If you do sign in, Google confirms who you are and we store the stable account ID Google gives us, plus the name on your account (used as your default display name). We do not receive your password and we do not store your email address. Signing in on a second device merges your progress rather than replacing it, and your best scores are kept from both.
Google's own handling of sign-in is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Advertising
Blockdrop shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Some are optional — you choose to watch one in exchange for a hint or an extra life — and some appear between games. Google's SDK may use your advertising ID and similar identifiers to choose and measure those ads.
Google may also use your device's internet (IP) address to work out a rough idea of where you are — typically your city or region, not your exact location — in order to choose which ads to show. The game itself never asks for or uses your device's location.
You can reset or delete that identifier at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your phone.
Google's handling of that data is covered by Google's Privacy & Terms.
Buying Remove Ads stops the ads that interrupt you. Optional ads you choose to watch stay available.
Purchases
Blockdrop offers one optional purchase, "Remove Ads". Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see and never store your card details, billing address, or any other payment information. All we receive is confirmation from Google that a purchase was made.
Children
Blockdrop is rated for ages 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
How long data is kept
- Leaderboard scores stay while the tournament or high score table they belong to is live, plus a short archive of past weeks.
- Move lists, kept so a suspicious score can be re-checked, are removed with the score they belong to.
- Data on your phone is deleted when you uninstall.
Deleting your data
To remove your leaderboard entry, player ID and any cloud save from our server, email [email protected] and say you want your Blockdrop data deleted. Include your leaderboard display name, or — if you signed in with Google — send the request from that Google account so we can find the right record. If you never signed in and never set a display name, your server data is anonymous and cannot be linked to you by anyone, including us.
Uninstalling the app removes everything held on your phone immediately.
Full details of what is deleted, what is not, and how long it takes are on the Delete Your Account and Data page.
Security
Everything the game sends travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The leaderboard database is not reachable from the public internet.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Significant changes will be noted in the app's update description.
